Mission

The mission of the County of Berks Human Resources Department is to provide qualified candidates to be hired for County departments; evaluate competitive insurance and benefit plans to affect cost savings while maintaining quality coverage; develop and administer centralized personnel policies and procedures; and produce professional development and training courses; provide all human resource functions, as approved by the Board of Commissioners relative to hiring, staffing, policies, benefits, compensation, collective bargaining and labor relations, and training and employee development for the delivery of services to the residents of the County of Berks.

Goals & Objectives

It is the goal of the County of Berks Human Resources Department to develop a pool of qualified applicants for all County positions; ensure that fair and equitable policies are adopted and enforced; to implement, coordinate, and administer benefit plans that provide appropriate levels of service within contractual restraints and prudent fiduciary levels; establish, administer, and maintain a fair and equitable compensation structure throughout the County; and continue to offer training opportunities within a wide range of subject areas.
