Mission

The Berks County Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Office's mission is to develop, implement and support countywide GIS and mapping applications, standards and products. The GIS Office also strives to provide education about the effective and efficient use of GIS technology to support good planning and sound decision making by all county agencies.

FAQs

YES, GIS data and other County data and documents are now being provided on the Berks County Data Hub. You may browse by different subject matter and can download datasets and information in various formats. All publiclaly available datasets are now housed here and the County has discontineud the sale of GIS products in 2022.

The County also provides various web mapping applications that allow you to interactively view things such as property details and ownership, as well as dashboards and story maps.  Web Mapping Applications.

NO, the County uses imagery from various years and various sources.  Because it was obtained from different sources the County does not distribute it.  Many different imagery products may be downloaded for free from PASDA and via their and via their Imagery Navigator. There are variosu years on georeference and non georeferenced imagery from variosu sources hosted on the clearinghouse.
NO, the County uses LiDAR data from various years and various sources.  Because it was obtained from different sources the County does not distribute it.  Many different LiDAR imagery products may be downloaded for free from PASDA and via their and via their Lidar Navigator.
YES, The county has access to a number of iterations of hard copy aerial photography. The Planning Commission is the keeper of this hard copy photography from the following years: 1960, 1971, 1980, 1988 and 1992. Contact the Planning Commission for more information.
YES. The county provides a standard tax map that shows boundary lines and dimension of properties for Assessment purposes. Please visit theTax Map FAQ for more information on these products.
NO, The county does not have the staffing or resources to produced customized maps or other products for the public. The products that are created are used to meet the daily business needs of the departments and the county as a whole. Please take a look at our Map Gallery(not linked). for various maps for download.
