Notice of Recount - U.S. Senator

News Date: Friday, November 15, 2024

Berks County Election Services will begin the statewide mandatory recount of the votes cast in the Nov. 5, 2024 General Election for United State Senator on Wednesday, Nov. 20.
The Secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, pursuant to 25 P.S. § 3154(g)(1), has ordered a statewide recount of the entire vote cast in the 2024 General Election for the Office of United States Senator. Unofficial statewide results show that the margin between U.S. Senator candidates Dave McCormick and Bob Casey is less than 1/2 of one percent, which triggers a mandatory recount under state law.

Berks County Election Services will begin the recount on Wednesday, Nov. 20., at its office on the second floor of the SAM building, 19 N. 6th Street, Reading.  Logic and accuracy testing will be conducted on the tabulators utilized for the recount beginning at 8 a.m.  The recount will begin immediately after testing concludes.
