ALERT! Berks County South Campus Closed Monday, October 5: The Berks County South Campus will be closed to staff and the public on Monday, October 5, to complete a scheduled electrical utility project. The South Campus Building will be without power from 8 am to 5 pm while Met-Ed conducts this work. For safety reasons, no one will be permitted to enter or access the South Campus building for any reason between 8 am to 5 pm on October 5.

Transformative Solutions Network

  • Berks County Jail System contracts with Transformative Solutions Network (TSN) to provide chapel staff, religious services and programs.
  • TSN represents approximately 400 Churches in Berks County and works cooperatively with all religious groups to address the needs of the jail community.
  • Through this network of churches and religious institutions, TSN provides a myriad of services to the community, including services to incarcerated individuals and follow-up services for them upon release to the community.
  • All BCJS religious programs serve two purposes:
    provide opportunities for incarcerated individuals to freely exercise their religion; and
    provide opportunities to connect with the community to enable rehabilitation.
  • There are approximately 32 different programs or services offered each week and there are aftercare ministries in the community.
  • The BCJS chapel staff and religious programs are directed by a senior chaplain, staff chaplains, an office manager and religious volunteers from the community.
