Statistics
Many of the information requests we receive are for demographic and statistical data. Much of the data we use are produced by any number of federal, state, county, and non-governmental agencies. As the local affiliate of the Pennsylvania State Data Center, it is our role to provide easy access to these different data sources and the information they disseminate. The U.S. Census Bureau has a website that allows data searches for many items at different geographic levels.
Limited information from the 2020 Census is available here due to the delayed timing of Census Bureau releases. Data for Census Tracts, Block Groups, and School Districts can be obtained by calling our offices. Areas outside of Berks County should be retrieved from the either the State Data Center or Census Bureau's websites.
Products produced by BCPC staff will be added below.
New Housing Unit Information
Once every quarter, staff compiles a listing of new housing units in Berks. Information is obtained from the Berks County Assessment Office. Housing units are added to the assessment rolls when 1.) construction is complete; 2.) an occupancy permit is issued by the municipality; and 3.) the house is assessed for taxation. This information tends to be more accurate than Building Permit information, as the permit is issued prior to the start of construction and the permit is still no guarantee that the home will be completed.
These lists are all in Adobe .PDF format:
By Municipality, by type, by quarter
By School District, by quarter
These lists are then aggregated into annual totals for municipalities and school districts:
