Volunteers at Berks Heim

Whether you are retired, need community service hours for school, or just like to help others, volunteers are always welcome. We need volunteers seven days a week in the morning, afternoon, and evenings. 

Opportunities to volunteer include:

      • Transporting residents to and from activities, worship services, or just outside for fresh air
      • Providing entertainment and social activities such as Bingo, pet therapy, crafting classes, etc.
      • Visiting residents 
      • Providing donations of cards, tissues, puzzle books, wheelchair bags etc.

Volunteer Service Board of Berks Heim

Volunteers are a very special and important part of the Berks Heim team. The Berks Heim Volunteer Service Board was founded in 1953. 

The board meets on regular basis to: 

                                            • Provide volunteers for Berks Heim.
                                            • Encourage community organizations to participate in the volunteer program.
                                            • Provide financial support for resident needs through fundraising efforts held in conjunction with Berks Heim such as bake sales and flea markets.
                                            • Host Heim Fest. Heim Fest is an annual festival for Berks Heim residents and families, featuring entertainment, games, food, bake sale and a flea market.
                                            • Hold regular board meetings and organizes committees to provide programs and opportunities for the residents of Berks Heim.
