Crash Reconstruction Officers

The Crash Reconstruction Section of the Forensic Services Unit provides investigative and technical assistance to Municipal Police departments in Berks County in reconstructing serious and fatal crashes involving passenger cars, trucks, motorcycles, pedestrians and commercial vehicles. This includes forensically mapping the crash scene, examining involved vehicles for compliance with regulations and mechanical failures, creating scene diagrams and animations, imaging pre-crash and post-crash data contained in modules within a vehicle’s operating network, and using accepted crash reconstruction methods to determine causation for criminal prosecution.

To further assist Municipal Police Departments, The Berks County Crash Reconstruction Task Force was formed by Berks County District Attorney John Adams in 2010. The Task Force is comprised of Berks County Municipal Police Officers, who are trained and experienced in the various aspects of crash investigation and reconstruction
