Professional Visitors

Professional Visitors

Criminal Defense Attorneys, Public Defenders, Police Officers, Probation/Parole Officers, and other County agencies are deemed professional visitors.  


Professional visitors may schedule visitation with inmates 7 days a week during the follow times:

9:00 AM - 11:00 AM

12:00 PM - 1:30 PM

2:30 PM - 4:00 PM

5:00 PM - 8:00 PM

No visits shall take place between the hours of 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM and 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM

 

All visits must be scheduled by contacting 610-208-4800 option 8, during normal business hours.  


All professional visitors must complete a Professional Visitor Application and a PREA (Prision Rape Elimination Act) Acknowledgement Form


As part of our ongoing security efforts, professional visitors are subject to all Berks County Jail System rules and regulations. All professional visitors must adhere to the Professional Visitor Dress Code. Any special requests are subject to preapproval from the Warden. It is your responsibility to secure all non-permissible items in your vehicle or the lobby lockers. Lobby officers will not hold keys, cell phones, garments, etc. for anyone.

All professional visits will be held in the private meeting rooms, located inside the multi-purpose room.

Proper identification upon arrival is required to establish identity.   Acceptable forms of identification include a photo I.D. card with a valid and current address, state driver’s license, state I.D. card, military I.D. or passport.
