Annual Turnover Instructions

Each year Tax Collectors and School Districts turnover unpaid balances to the Tax Claim Bureau for delinquent collections.  The previous year's unpaid regular tax bills and any interims/changes that were due by 12/31 of the previous calendar year are due by mid-January.  In July, any unpaid interims/changes that were due by 6/30 should be turned over.

Each taxing body must sign a certification form confirming the quantity of bills and amount of tax dollars being turned over to Tax Claim.  The COUNTY/MUNICIPAL certification form is generated by the RBA software and produced once the Return to Claim process is completed.

The SCHOOL certification form can be completed by the Tax Collector or the District themselves, be ultimately must be reviewed and signed by the authority.  A link to the most current certification form is below. These forms, along with the data extract and unpaid reports, should then be emailed to the attention of the Director or mailed to same.
