Domestic Violence Unit
The Berks County Probation and Parole Domestic Violence Unit provides intensive supervision to adult offenders sentenced to probation or parole for committing acts of domestic violence. While the unit applies a variety of educational and/or therapeutic interventions to assist the offender, the emphasis is on community protection, especially regarding real and/or potential victims.
The unit consists of 5 officers and their supervisor, whose role is to empower victims through their participation in the supervision process. Additionally, this unit conducts specialized risks assessments, Cognitive Behavioral Groups, and victim advocacy for the courts.

Offender Programing
DV (Domestic Violence) & AM (Anger Management) Group
- Currently we have two in house DV classes and one AM class to offer our offenders who are court ordered to complete DV/AM programs/classes:
- NCTI AM class - 9 week program meeting once per week.
- NCTI DV class - 13 week program meeting once per week.
- UC IPV group - 26 week program meeting once per week (high-risk and/or repeat offenders)
