Special Supervision Units

When an individual meets certain criteria or has committed an offense that requires special conditions to be met while on supervision, they are assigned to 1 of the 5 Special Supervision Units in the department. The units conduct specialized risks assessments, work on Cognitive Behavioral strategies, and advocate for victims in the courts.  There is continuous collaboration with a variety of law enforcement agencies, the Courts, community and treatment agencies to provide educational and/or therapeutic interventions that assist in the reduction of recidivism as well as provide community protection.

Conversely, the Warrants Unit is comprised of adult and juvenile probation officers who work closely with local law enforcement to safely apprehend absconded/wanted offenders.
